Note: Starting March 2023, Global Design is called Site Theme.
Global design, the section in the editor where you can set site-wide styles that apply across your site pages and connected widgets, gets a real capability boost to allow you to work even faster.
Global Design recap - what is it and why you should use it
Imagine a collection of design defaults you create for your site only once, and they automatically apply to all site pages instantly - that means affected texts, buttons, and other widgets instantly get the design styles you defined. This is a major time saver, and it’s a great way to keep your site building consistent and streamlined.
Update global design with custom text style changes right from the canvas
Let’s say you’re in the process of building a site in the editor, and you play around with the style of the page’s biggest title (Heading 1) on the homepage. You change its color to red and increase the font by 20px, and now Heading 1 looks much better - so much better, in fact, that you want to apply this style change to all Heading 1s in the site.
So instead of repeating that change across all site pages to ensure that changed Heading 1 is the same everywhere, you can easily update your site’s global design settings for Heading 1 just once, right from the canvas - simply click on that one title, scroll down the text styles dropdown menu, and click the red Update global Heading 1 menu option. That single click will apply to all existing and future Heading 1s in your site with this new style.
Additional updates in global text styles
There are two additional updates to the global text section in the global design section in the editor.
- A designated text style setting for Paragraph text. This allows you to define how you want body text to appear across your site. And as with any other global design setting, all you have to do is define the settings just once, and this will auto-apply to all future paragraph texts you’ll add to your site (excluding any paragraph texts you’ll make custom individual changes to).
- Additional text style options. These include letter spacing, text shadow, text transform, font weights and line height, to name a few. These additional text style settings give you more control and flexibility, so you can save time and build websites faster.
New! Reset global row spacing
Another little improvement that gives your site building productivity a boost is the option to reset the spacing of your global rows and columns. This means that, instead of manually adjusting the margins and padding of rows and columns, you can simply reset these instantly to match the global setting with one click. This improvement saves you time as you can make consistent changes across your site with minimal effort.
Go ahead and explore global design options to save time and streamline your site building process.

Last October, Google Search introduced site names on mobile search results . The goal is to make it easier for people to identify the website that's associated with each result. Google tries to generate the site name based off of a few areas of the page: The title tag, H1 headings on the page, open graph site_name tags and schema tags. We saw it as an opportunity for you to boost your clients' business discoverability in search results, so we immediately implemented it into the platform. Avanty now automatically embeds the website schema tags to the homepage of the website, based on the business name you set in the content library.
